“Children don’t judge their parents’ lives"
Who does the possessive pronoun in the title My Queen Karo refer to?
Dorothée van den Berghe: "Partly after Karo herself. Children like to play prince and princess. Her father also occasionally calls her queen. And because these are partly my memories of growing up in Amsterdam, the title also refers a bit at me. As a joke, because I saw myself as a little queen at the time. The screenplay also gave a major role to the figure of Queen Fabiola, but that is no longer in the film." (De Morgen)
