I don't really worry about whether or not I will ever make a feature film. Although I recently had a taste of it by shooting the 50-minute TV film Turn Your Boat Around and Pray for the VPRO.

Humo: An excellent film, which looked suspiciously like a feature film.

Dorothee Van Den Berghe: I haven't even had time to think about that. I had just graduated and someone from the VPRO saw my short film Rue Verte, my thesis for St.-Lukas-Brussels, at a student film festival and asked me if I would also like to make a film for them. Low-low budget, written, shot and edited very quickly, but it was fantastic.

I was of course happy, but also a bit angry that such an offer had to come from the Netherlands again. We have five TV stations here in Flanders and none that puts young filmmakers to work.(Humo)
